Position Overview: As an Oncology Specialist Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in the multidisciplinary care team, delivering expert pharmaceutical care to oncology patients. Your expertise will help guide safe and effective medication management, ensuring the best therapeutic outcomes for our patients. You will work closely with oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize chemotherapy regimens, manage side effects, and provide education on drug therapy.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical pharmacy services to oncology patients, including chemotherapy preparation, dosing recommendations, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with oncologists and healthcare teams to optimize patient treatment plans.
  • Review patient medication profiles for drug interactions, side effects, and contraindications.
  • Educate patients and their families on chemotherapy regimens, medications, and potential side effects.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust pharmacotherapy as necessary.
  • Participate in clinical rounds and provide drug therapy recommendations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest oncology pharmacology, clinical guidelines, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
  • Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) preferred, or willingness to pursue.
  • Active California Pharmacist License.
  • At least 2 years of experience in oncology pharmacy or a clinical setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of chemotherapy agents, supportive care medications, and oncology drug therapy management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to provide patient-centered care and educate patients about complex medications and treatments.
