Cardiac Catheterization Lab Rad Tech!!!

Position Summary/Purpose:
The licensed Rad Tech Cath Lab is a caregiver who assists in the performance of cardiac catheterization by assuring the imaging quality and storage of images according to departmental standards. Operates the fluoroscopy equipment in a manner that provides the highest quality image for the cardiologist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic catheterization. Responsibilities include appropriate billing for each procedure. Assists the Cardiologist in a scrub assistant role for all types of catheterization procedures. Responsibilities include homodynamic monitoring, collection, and calculation of data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including safety and infection control.
- Fulfills all duties and responsibilities of the Rad Tech – Cath Lab.
- Ensures proper operation of imaging equipment in the cardiac catheterization lab.
- Assists physicians with images and sequences for diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Manages communication in and out of the lab, including pages, lab specimens, and housekeeping requests.
- Performs as a Monitor Technician, acquiring hemodynamic and electrophysiological data.
- Updates procedure changes and prepares supply requisitions.
- Assists the physician as a scrub technician in diagnostic coronary arteriography and cardiac interventions.
- Maintains competence in Radiographic Technician, Monitor Technician, and Scrub Technician roles with continuing education.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years cardiac catheterization lab experience, preferred. May consider a recent graduate, within the past 2 years, from a Radiology Technology program or a licensed Radiation Technologist with five (5) years of recent experience working as a Radiation Technologist.
Licensure:
- CRT (CA Radiologic Technology certificate) is required.
- CA Fluoroscopy permit is required.
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) is required.
Certification:
- Current BLS is required.
- Current ACLS certification (ACLS required within 6 months of hire date).
- Additional Unit-specific certification may be required.
