MLR is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our client’s vibrant rehabilitation team, working in either an outpatient or inpatient environment. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering tailored treatment plans that directly aid patient recovery, enhance mobility, and improve overall quality of life. Your expertise will empower patients to regain independence and elevate their physical wellness.

 

Key Responsibilities for a PTA:

  • Collaborate with physical therapists to create and implement personalized treatment plans, utilizing a diverse range of therapeutic exercises and techniques.
  • Deliver direct therapy using hands-on manual techniques and advanced therapeutic modalities to support patient recovery.
  • Educate patients and their families about exercise regimens, home care strategies, and methods to improve mobility and independence.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, noting treatment responses and adjusting therapy plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Work closely with the physical therapy team and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Ensure therapy equipment is well-maintained, sanitized, and in excellent working condition to facilitate effective treatments.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.

Physical Therapist Assistant Qualifications:

  • An Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) or a related field from an accredited program is required.
  • Current active licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in New Mexico is required.
  • Previous clinical experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Proficiency in therapeutic modalities and techniques, along with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
