CT/X-Ray Technologist Duties
- Perform high-quality CT scans and general diagnostic radiology procedures as ordered by licensed providers
- Operate imaging systems and ensure accurate image capture and patient positioning
- Prepare patients for procedures by providing clear instructions and addressing safety and comfort
- Document patient information, exam protocols, and images into PACS and electronic medical records systems
- Assist in lab draws, ECGs, and medication administration when appropriate
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care with nurses, providers, and oncology specialists
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety, infection control, and quality assurance standards
- Participate in equipment checks, maintenance reporting, and inventory stocking for imaging suites
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
Licensure & Certifications:
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R) required
- Current New Mexico Radiologic Technologist license
- ARRT CT certification (or obtained within 12 months of hire)
- BLS certification required
- Medical Assistant certification preferred (or obtained within 6 months)
Experience:
- One year of imaging experience in a hospital or outpatient clinic setting preferred
- Clinical experience with oncology patients a plus
Technical Skills:
- Experience with digital PACS systems, EMRs, and CT-specific software
- Knowledge of radiographic anatomy, patient positioning, and radiation protection standards
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced care environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
