Key Responsibilities for the Registered Nurse:

• Continuously monitor and assess patients throughout labor and delivery, including the observation of vital signs and fetal heart rate.
• Provide direct care during labor, administering medications, assisting with deliveries, and managing pain relief effectively.
• Educate and support patients and their families on the labor process, delivery options, and post-birth care.
• Collaborate closely with obstetricians, midwives, and healthcare teams to ensure a seamless and safe delivery experience.
• Maintain precise and comprehensive records of patient care, documenting each phase of labor and delivery accurately.
• Respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies or complications, adhering to hospital protocols and guidelines.
• Uphold stringent infection control standards to ensure a safe and hygienic environment in accordance with hospital regulations.

Qualifications for the Registered Nurse:

• Current RN license in New Mexico (required).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required).
• Strong clinical skills with a proven ability to stay calm under pressure (preferred).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, focusing on a patient-centered approach to care.
