As an Ambulatory Nurse Quality Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing clinical workflows, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing evidence-based best practices across outpatient settings. Reporting to the Director of Quality and the Executive Director of Ambulatory Nursing, you will collaborate with clinic leaders to support policy integration, staff training, and performance improvement efforts. Ambulatory Nurse Quality Coordinator in New Mexico 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Partner with leadership to assess, develop, and implement quality improvement strategies across ambulatory care settings. 
  • Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators, identifying areas for clinical enhancement and efficiency. 
  • Lead the development and refinement of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) plan to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices. 
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and administrators to optimize workflows and improve patient outcomes. 
  • Support value-based purchasing contracts, ACO initiatives, and HEDIS compliance by analyzing performance data and providing actionable insights. 
  • Ensure ambulatory clinical protocols align with DNV accreditation standards and system-wide quality objectives. 
  • Provide training and education on quality improvement methodologies such as PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act). 
  • Assist with survey readiness for regulatory compliance, including DNV and CMS requirements. 
  • Participate in infection control assessments, root cause analyses, and quality oversight meetings to drive continuous improvement. 
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and hospital information while fostering a culture of excellence. 

 

Qualifications: 

Education: Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing (RN) program; BSN preferred. 
Licensure/Certifications: Current New Mexico RN license; BLS certification required; National certification in quality or ambulatory care preferred. 
Experience: Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in ambulatory or outpatient care, with at least 2 years in quality improvement or leadership roles. 
 

Skills: 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills. 
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and quality reporting tools
  • Ability to foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams
