Job Summary:
MLR is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join a dynamic healthcare team in New Jersey. The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using radiographic equipment to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role involves operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality imaging services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnostic Imaging:
- Perform a variety of radiographic procedures including X-rays, fluoroscopy, and other imaging techniques as prescribed by physicians.
- Position patients correctly to obtain accurate images while ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Adjust imaging equipment settings and techniques based on the type of procedure and patient condition.
- Patient Care and Safety:
- Explain imaging procedures to patients, addressing any concerns and ensuring their understanding.
- Monitor and protect patients from unnecessary radiation exposure by following safety protocols and using protective equipment.
- Provide appropriate care and support to patients before, during, and after imaging procedures.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain radiographic equipment, ensuring it is in proper working order and performing routine quality control checks.
- Troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of imaging films and digital images.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic imaging.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providing clear instructions and support throughout the imaging process.
- Document and report imaging results, including any abnormalities or issues detected during procedures.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Adhere to all regulatory and safety standards, including those set by OSHA, HIPAA, and state health regulations.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, imaging reports, and documentation in compliance with legal and institutional requirements.
- Professional Development:
- Stay current with advancements in radiologic technology and imaging techniques.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting as a Radiologic Technologist preferred.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent is required.
New Jersey state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist is required.
