Are you passionate about patient care and skilled in phlebotomy practices? We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Phlebotomist to play a pivotal role in our healthcare team. As a lead, you’ll oversee the collection, handling, and processing of patient samples, while being a team leader and mentor. 

Pay Range: $45,000 - $55,000/year 
Schedule: Day Shift, Flexible

Lead Phlebotomist Responsibilities:

• Oversee the phlebotomy team, including scheduling shifts, assigning tasks, and evaluating performance
• Serve as a resource to phlebotomy and reception staff
• Coordinate workflow to ensure timely collection of specimens
• Monitor sick call pager and adjust placements accordingly
• Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures to collect blood samples
• Assist with difficult draws and serve as a technical expert for all collection procedures
• Ensure proper collection of research kits and other special procedures
• Review select policies as required (e.g., annual review)
• Recommend policy changes and assist with communication of policy updates to testing staff
• Participate in survey readiness activities and relevant quality assurance initiatives
• Troubleshoot computer system problems and implement downtime procedures
• Oversee hardware inventory and promptly address any issues
• Train students and new employees in phlebotomy techniques
• Provide leadership in maintaining patient confidentiality and ensuring patient comfort and safety

Lead Phlebotomist Qualifications:

• Registration by the College of American Pathologists as a PBT, or the equivalent, is desired
• Current BCLS certification required within 30 days of hire
• Ability to lead and motivate a team
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with clinical staff and ensure patient continuity of care
