Start Your Lab Career Beneath Big Skies — And Make a Lasting Impact in the Heart of Nebraska

Some careers begin with a resume. Others begin with a feeling — a tug toward a place where your work can matter, and your life can breathe. If you’re just stepping into the world of medical technology, there’s a place where your passion can grow roots, your skills can stretch, and your name will be known. Welcome to a role that means more — in a town where everything and everyone moves with intention.

As a Certified Medical Lab Generalist (MLT/CLT), you’ll join a dedicated team in Nebraska’s Great Plains, where the pace is grounded, the stars are sharp, and the work you do reaches far beyond hospital walls. In this quiet but vital corner of the Midwest, you'll find purpose in the precise — and a career that gives back with every shift.

The Power of a Single Result — Why This Role Matters

Every day in the lab starts with one thing: trust. A patient places theirs in us the moment a sample is taken. A provider places theirs in you as they wait for data that guides life-changing decisions. And as a new or early-career Medical Laboratory Technician, you’ll quickly see just how much your role matters — in moments big and small.

From morning chem panels to late-night hematology calls, you’ll collect and analyze biological specimens, operate complex diagnostic equipment, and ensure each result meets the highest standards. More than that, you’ll begin to understand the real power behind the numbers — how your work provides clarity, comfort, and connection in times of uncertainty.

This is an ideal role for recent grads or students finishing their clinical rotations, especially those drawn to hands-on learning, supportive mentorship, and the kind of work environment where every question is welcomed — and every improvement noticed.

What It Looks Like to Build a Life — and Career — in the Nebraska High Plains

There’s a rhythm here that you can feel. The mornings start with the glow of prairie light stretching over wide fields, and the evenings close with cotton candy skies fading into constellations you haven’t seen since childhood. In between, the town hums with quiet determination: shopkeepers unlocking doors on brick-lined streets, teachers greeting students by name, neighbors waving as they pass on gravel roads.

This is not a big city. That’s the point.

What you’ll find here is space. Space to grow. Space to slow down. Space to really connect — with your team, with your community, with yourself. You’ll find Saturday mornings at the farmer’s market, Sunday hikes along the Wellfleet River, and weeknights spent under porch lights, not traffic lights.

The town offers everything you need — good schools, safe neighborhoods, welcoming churches, and small businesses with big hearts. And if adventure calls, the Sandhills, state parks, and hidden fishing holes are all just a short drive away.

For those craving meaningful work without sacrificing quality of life, this corner of Nebraska offers something rare: room to breathe and reason to stay.

The Lab You’ll Work In — Small Team, Big Support

Here, you won’t get lost in a sea of departments or badge numbers. Our lab is tight-knit and team-driven — a place where your presence matters and your potential is recognized. You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with experienced professionals who take pride in their craft and find joy in teaching the next generation.

You’ll gain fluency in key lab processes like blood analysis, urinalysis, microbiology, and instrument calibration. You’ll learn how to manage time during high-volume hours and how to stay meticulous in quieter moments. And through it all, you’ll be encouraged — not just evaluated.

This is a place where “entry-level” doesn’t mean “unimportant.” It means “just getting started” — and we’re here to walk beside you every step of the way.

Who We're Looking For — Grit, Grace, and Growth Mindset

If you’re nearing the end of your MLT or CLT program or recently graduated with an associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biology, or Clinical Laboratory Science — we’d love to meet you. If you already have your ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification, even better. But if you’re still working toward it, that’s okay too. We’re here to support your path.

The right fit for this role is someone who sees value in precision and pride in being part of a team. You should be comfortable with the basics — from operating lab software to documenting test results — but more importantly, you should be excited to learn more. Strong communication skills, a sense of responsibility, and a genuine desire to contribute will take you far here.

Whether you're from Nebraska or new to rural life, we welcome those who come with open minds and ready hearts.

What We Offer — Stability, Support, and the Chance to Belong

We believe that when people feel valued, they do their best work. That’s why we offer a competitive salary, generous PTO, and comprehensive health coverage that includes medical, dental, and vision. You’ll also find access to continuing education opportunities, mentorship, and a culture that prioritizes wellness and flexibility.

More than the benefits, though, is the sense of belonging. We’re not a corporate machine — we’re a mission-driven team committed to each other and to the patients who count on us. And in a place like this, that connection isn’t just professional — it’s personal.
