Qualifications for Ultrasound Technologist:
- Active certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Completion of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Proficient in conducting abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, and vascular ultrasound exams.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to operate ultrasound equipment, including basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the process and positioning them for optimal imaging.
- Operate ultrasound equipment to capture images of various body areas, including the abdomen, pelvis, heart, blood vessels, and fetal development.
- Analyze images to identify abnormalities or potential health concerns.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient procedures and results.
- Ensure ultrasound equipment is properly maintained and calibrated for precise imaging.
