Qualifications for Ultrasound Technologist:
- Active certification with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Completion of an accredited program in Ultrasound Technology
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Skilled in performing abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, and vascular ultrasound exams
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, physicians, and healthcare team members
- Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and position patients for ultrasound procedures, providing explanations to ensure comfort and understanding
- Operate ultrasound equipment to capture detailed images of the abdomen, pelvis, heart, blood vessels, and fetal development
- Analyze images to detect any abnormalities or health concerns
- Document patient procedures and findings accurately
- Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance and imaging accuracy
