RN – Public Health Nurse / Home Visits

Qualifications: 

  • Current RN license in the state of Iowa 
  • Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience (home health or public health preferred) 
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation 
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association) 
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or two years of related work experience 
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively 
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and documentation skills 
  • Must have access to a personal cell phone and be comfortable using EMRs 

 

What You Will Do: 

  • Conduct in-home nursing assessments and provide direct patient care 
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans 
  • Administer medications, manage treatments, and provide health education 
  • Supervise Home Health Aides in the home environment 
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate services 
  • Provide community health education and public health outreach as needed 
  • Participate in on-call rotation (typically 1–2 weekends per month) 
  • Accurately document all care using electronic medical records
