Fuel Passion and Performance in a Region Where Small-Town Sports Mean Everything

If you're a Certified Athletic Trainer with a heart for high school athletics and a spark for building something meaningful from the ground up, this is the opportunity you've been waiting for. Nestled between the rolling fields of Iowa’s western corridor, where the pace is steady but the energy around Friday night lights is anything but quiet, you'll find a community ready to rally around someone who sees sports medicine as both art and science.

This full-time position offers more than a roster of responsibilities — it offers you a seat at the table. As the first dedicated Athletic Trainer serving a local school district, you won’t just work with athletes — you’ll shape the program. This is your chance to blend mentorship with medicine, prevention with performance, and build deep roots in a region where school sports are stitched into the cultural fabric.

Whether you're on the sidelines taping ankles, collaborating with physicians and physical therapists in the clinic, or planning educational workshops for parents and players, your work will carry weight. And with flexible hours that align with practice schedules and clinic needs — including evenings and weekends — you'll never miss the moment when preparation meets peak performance.

Deliver on-site athletic training services for practices, games, and events

Assess injuries, provide immediate care, and coordinate emergency services when needed

Develop and implement rehabilitation and conditioning programs for student-athletes

Maintain accurate injury documentation and ensure compliance with privacy laws

Advise athletes, parents, and coaches on nutrition, conditioning, and injury prevention

A self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and think entrepreneurially

Passion for education, safety, and creating inclusive spaces for young athletes

Benefits

Competitive full-time salary based on experience

A Region Where You’ll Be Known by Name — and Cheered Like Family

Just west of Iowa’s capital and within an easy drive of Omaha’s urban edge, this rural pocket offers a rare blend of quiet charm and community pulse. Here, under the wide Midwestern sky, you’ll find gravel roads lined with golden fields, small-town diners serving up homemade pies, and schools where the gym buzzer echoes louder because the whole town shows up.

This is the kind of place where teachers coach the teams, local businesses sponsor jerseys, and athletic trainers are viewed as critical members of a student’s support system. Community pride isn’t just a slogan — it’s an identity. You’ll be embraced by families who value commitment, recognized by name in the grocery store, and appreciated not just for your credentials, but for your care.

Beyond the field, there’s natural beauty waiting to be explored. Bike trails wind through serene prairies, rivers glisten under cottonwood trees, and state parks offer hiking, fishing, and picnicking year-round. For those craving a night out, Des Moines’ vibrant arts and food scene is just over an hour away — perfect for catching a concert or trying that fusion restaurant everyone’s talking about.

And when you want to stay local? Fireworks light up the summer sky at county fairs. Fall festivals fill the air with cinnamon and campfire. And on winter nights, you can see every star from your own backyard. It’s a place where you can breathe, grow, and truly belong.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a certified Athletic Trainer who’s equal parts clinician and collaborator — someone who can tape an ankle, calm a nervous parent, and design a proactive training plan in the same day. You should be energized by the idea of starting something new, helping shape a program with heart and purpose, and being the go-to expert for students and staff alike.

Whether you’re early in your career and hungry for hands-on growth, or you’re seasoned and ready to put your mark on a community, we want to meet you. Flexibility, positivity, and a sense of purpose will go a long way here.

A Career That Moves With Meaning

This isn’t just about coverage — it’s about connection. If you’re ready to combine clinical skill with community spirit, and want to step into a role where your presence is valued and your impact is real, we invite you to apply.

Let your passion for sports medicine meet a region that believes in its future athletes — and the people who help them stay strong. Your next chapter starts here, in the heart of Iowa, where every play, every recovery, and every win matters.

Apply today — and bring your expertise to a place that will welcome it with open arms.
