Medical Laboratory Technician

- Core Duties:
- Perform a wide range of laboratory tests across multiple areas (microbiology, blood banking, serology, chemistry, hematology, etc.).
- Collect and process specimens according to established policies.
- Operate laboratory instruments and perform quality control checks.
- Analyze and interpret results, ensuring accuracy.
- Communicate results to physicians, nursing staff, and patients as needed.
- Maintain equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and adhere to safety policies.
- Provide care for patients of all age groups, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) from an accredited institution.
- Licensing: Eligible for or currently registered as an MLT (ASCP) or equivalent; must hold or be eligible for North Dakota licensure.
- Certifications: BLS certification (CPR), must attend Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training.
- Experience: Six to twelve months of experience in a hospital training program.
- Other: Regular, punctual attendance is required. Must be able to adapt to shifting duties and emergency situations. Must hold a valid North Dakota driver’s license.

- Strong analytical skills to assess laboratory data and quality control results.
- Ability to operate complex medical equipment.
- Good communication skills for working with healthcare teams and patients.
- Must work independently and be able to troubleshoot issues and make decisions with minimal supervision.
Salary Range:
- $25.50 to $37.60 per hour (depending on experience).
