ULTRASOUND TECH

MLee Healthcare has been contracted by a prominent facility in the Raleigh-Durham Area to find a talented Ultrasound Technologist to join their tight-knit team.Also known as a diagnostic medical sonographer, an Ultrasound Tech is responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to produce images of patients' internal organs and structures. These images are used by physicians to diagnose and treat medical conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the procedure and answering any questions they may have
  • Position patients and equipment to ensure proper alignment and exposure
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to produce images, adjusting settings as needed to ensure the best possible images
  • Monitor patients during the procedure to ensure their safety and comfort
  • Process and review images to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Communicate with physicians and other medical staff to ensure proper diagnostic procedures are followed
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and organized

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or certificate in diagnostic medical sonography or related field
  • RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) certification or equivalent
  • Knowledge of ultrasound equipment and related technology
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Knowledge of safety and infection control protocols
  • Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
  • Familiarity with PACS (picture archiving and communication system)

This job requires a combination of physical and mental skills, including the ability to stand for long periods of time, lift and move patients, and operate complex medical equipment.

The ultrasound technician will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting and quality control of the equipment.
