Position Overview:

 

The Echo Sonographer performs adult transthoracic, stress, and dobutamine stress echocardiograms and assists in transesophageal echocardiography. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing preliminary diagnostic evaluations.
  • Promptly notifying cardiologists of results.
  • Consulting with them for non-standard exams.

The role also involves assisting with left atrial appendage closures and requires rotational duties. Direction is received from providers, department managers, and supervisors.

 

Education/Experience:

  • An Associate's Degree or a two-year technical certificate is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in performing diagnostic echocardiograms is needed.
  • Being registered and/or registry eligible is preferred.

License/Certifications:

  • A technical certificate is required within 6 months of hire.
