We are seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join our outstanding healthcare team at a well-established facility in southern Montana. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in the safe and effective use of medications, providing expert support to both patients and healthcare providers. Responsibilities include verifying prescriptions, counseling patients on medication use, monitoring for potential drug interactions, and advising on over-the-counter alternatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Medication Therapy Management: Assess and manage medication therapies to ensure they meet patient-specific needs while adhering to safety guidelines.
  • Inventory Management: Help maintain the pharmacy inventory, ensuring adequate medication supplies.
  • Clinical Documentation: Keep accurate records in the electronic medical records system for all medication-related activities.
  • Patient Education: Provide patients with comprehensive information about their medications, including usage, side effects, and potential interactions, ensuring a smooth transition from hospital to home.
  • Protocol Development: Contribute to the creation and updating of medication protocols and policies, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Order Verification and Dispensing: Review medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness, and oversee the preparation and dispensing of medications, including sterile compounding when needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree
  • Current Montana pharmacy license or eligibility to obtain one
  • Prior experience in a hospital or clinical setting is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
