Laboratory Director

Major Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead Laboratory operations, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Supervise and schedule staff, conduct hiring, and manage training.
• Collaborate with the Medical Director for guidance and patient care.
• Oversee budget, materials, and staffing efficiency.
• Maintain lab safety and regulatory compliance.
• Lead Quality Management and community engagement.
• Perform laboratory tests as needed.

Academic, Certifications, & Trade Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, NAACLS accredited MLS/MT program or equivalent.
• Master's degree preferred.
• National certification as MLS/MT within 12 months of hire.

Work Experience, Skills, and Strengths:

• 7+ years as a Medical Lab Scientist/Technologist, 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Strong scientific and regulatory knowledge. (CLIA Experience Preferred)
• Excellent decision-making and communication skills.
• Leadership, teamwork, and computer proficiency.

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping, and mobility.
• Sufficient sight and hearing or prosthetics.
• May handle biohazardous materials.

Working Conditions:

• Indoors in a controlled environment.
• Personal protective equipment required.
• Exposure to biohazards, infectious diseases, and occasional hazards.
