Emergency Room Nurse Job Description
- Deliver Acute Patient Care:
- Provide expert care to patients in emergency situations, managing a wide range of medical conditions, from trauma to acute illness.
- Monitor Patient Condition:
- Continuously assess and document vital signs, administer medications and treatments, and respond rapidly to changes in patient conditions.
- Collaborate with a Multidisciplinary Team:
- Work alongside physicians, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals within the emergency room to stabilize and treat patients effectively.
- Educate & Support Patients and Families:
- Communicate clearly with patients and families, providing education about diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Ensure Readiness of Emergency Equipment:
- Assist in preparing and maintaining emergency equipment and supplies to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
Requirements
- Licensure & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in MN.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; TNCC preferred.
- Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in an emergency room or critical care setting is preferred. New grads encouraged to apply.
- Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making abilities under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a high-stress environment.
