Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests in a designated medical specialty area, identifying any test discrepancies and taking corrective action as needed.
- Promptly report critical test results to physicians or nurses, adhering to established protocols. Maintain an accurate log of abnormal results.
- Prepare test reports clearly, reviewing them for accuracy and clinical relevance, while ensuring proper documentation with initials and dates.
- Provide in-service training for lab staff and students in your specialty area.
- Assist with clerical tasks related to laboratory operations.
- Participate in specimen collection and processing, following established protocols.
- Attend department meetings and in-service training sessions regularly.
- Engage in the development and presentation of continuing education programs.
- Adhere to all laboratory and hospital policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

- Highly organized with keen attention to detail.
- Effective time management, with the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
Education and Certification:
- Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
- ASCP or equivalent national certification in medical technology.
