Location: South of Minneapolis, MN
Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for performing high quality and accurate diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) exams in accordance with established procedures.
Job Functions
- Interacts with patients, providers, and staff in a professional and courteous manner to ensure safety for our patients.
- Produces high quality and accurate diagnostic MRI images.
- Assists with maintenance of equipment to ensure patient safety and proper working order.
- Reviews cases with Radiologist to ensure accuracy of clinical data obtained.
- Monitors patient while performing scan for any safety concerns such as overheating, discomfort etc.
- Performs intravenous access technique as needed.
- Demonstrates room and equipment cleaning process between patients.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MRI tech Minimum Education/Work Experience
- Graduate of an AMA accredited school of Radiology
- Registered by the ARRT in MR
- Meet basic requirements for the ACR accreditation
- CPR Certified
MRI Tech Qualifications:
- Knowledge of anatomy and pathology seen on MRI images
- Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
- Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner
- Strong computer skills and basic Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
- Ability to work autonomously and as a team
- Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability and knowledge to complete job functions at all Imaging locations
- Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
MRI Tech License/Certification
- Registered by the ARRT in MR (Employees cross-trained from the completion of training to become registered).
- Must meet basic requirements for the ACR accreditations
