MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN (MLT)
Part Time to Full Time
pm/night/weekend differential
Up to $3,000 in commitment bonus
MLT Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs routine and special laboratory tests in a designated medical specialty area, recognizes test inconsistencies and takes appropriate corrective action.
- Calls in critical test results to physicians or nurses immediately and according to established criteria. Maintains the abnormal results log according to protocol. Prepares test reports legibly. Initials and dates work performed. Reviews reports for clerical accuracy and clinical indications.
- Provides in-service training to other laboratory staff and students in a designated area.
- Performs clerical functions associated with the designated laboratory area.
- Contributes to the general laboratory functions and institutional needs. Performs specimen collection and processing duties according to policies established in the medical specialty area.
- Attends regular department staff meetings and in-service training.
- Attends and participates in the preparation and/or presentation of the laboratory continuing education programs.
- Observes laboratory and hospital policies, procedures, and safety practices.

MLT Education and Experience:
- Successful completion of an accredited medical laboratory technician program or the equivalent training, education, and experience.
- ASCP certification or equivalent nationally recognized medical technology certification.
