Occupational Therapist - Outpatient
Wages: $35.78 - $50.51 per hour
Position Summary:
The Occupational Therapist will lead the assessment, treatment, planning, and implementation of therapy services for patients of all ages. Utilizing up-to-date knowledge, theory, evidence, and clinical judgment, this role collaborates with patients, families, and an interdisciplinary team to deliver personalized and effective care. The position also involves educating and mentoring therapy students, peers, and other medical professionals, as well as contributing to department and program planning.
Occupational Therapist Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients and develop functional goals and treatment plans tailored to their age.
- Facilitate discharge planning by evaluating equipment needs, identifying community resources, and completing home programs and discharge summaries.
- Design and implement treatment interventions in accordance with current therapy practices.
- Delegate and supervise the care plan, ensuring support personnel are properly guided.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to review patient progress, treatment responses, goals, and make necessary program adjustments.
- Present relevant therapy information during patient care conferences and team meetings.
Occupational Therapist Qualifications:
- Licensed by the Minnesota Board of Occupational Therapy Practice.
- Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification (or obtain within six months of hire, company paid).
- Advanced experience or Lymphedema Certification preferred.
- Hand therapy experience, certification not required.
- Neurological experience preferred.
Occupational Schedule:
- 80 hours per two weeks.
- Clinic hours: Weekdays, with shift times between 7:30 am and 6:00 pm, determined upon hire.
- Hospital duties: 3 to 6 weekends and 1 holiday per year (scheduled in advance).
