ASCP Medical Lab Technician – Start Your Career on Michigan’s Upper Peninsula
If you’re launching your career as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), this opportunity offers more than just a job—it’s a chance to grow, learn, and be part of a team that genuinely supports your journey. Whether you’re freshly certified or nearing the end of your MLT program, you’ll join a group of professionals who believe in hands-on learning, mentorship, and the value of every role in the lab.
Here, your work will play a direct role in patient care. You’ll be collecting and analyzing samples, using modern lab equipment, and helping ensure test results are accurate and timely. But more than that, you’ll be surrounded by people who want to help you succeed—who are patient, experienced, and eager to support your development in the field. This is a place where early career professionals are welcomed and set up to thrive.
You’ll be based in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, one of the oldest towns in the Midwest and a place with a character all its own. Perched on the Upper Peninsula’s border, this waterside community is known for its historic locks, dense forests, and strong ties to shipping and Indigenous heritage.
Winters are snowy and beautiful, the pace of life is grounded and peaceful, and the natural surroundings offer an ever-changing view through the seasons. It’s the kind of place where you can go from your shift to a quiet walk by the water, or spend weekends exploring rugged trails and scenic byways.
If you’re drawn to nature, history, and a tight-knit sense of community, you’ll feel right at home here.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need an associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Lab Technology, Biology, or a related field. Certification through ASCP, AMT, or another recognized body is a plus—but if you’re eligible and working toward certification, that’s absolutely welcomed. We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and ready to be part of a team that values quality care and mutual support.
If you’re looking for a role where you can build your lab career while experiencing the charm and resilience of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, we’d love to hear from you.
This could be the beginning of something meaningful!
