Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Direct the daily operations of the surgical services department, ensuring outstanding patient care and compliance with best practices.
- Team Management: Guide and mentor a talented team of surgical professionals, including nurses and surgical techs.
- Policy Development: Create and implement policies to enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
- Innovation: Keep up with the latest surgical trends and techniques to ensure our department remains industry-leading.
- Collaboration: Partner with other departments and healthcare providers to improve patient outcomes and foster interdepartmental coordination.
- Resource Management: Oversee departmental budgets, resource distribution, and staffing requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Experience: At least five years of progressive clinical nursing experience, with management experience in surgical services.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 1 year of hire. Neonatal Resuscitation and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are a plus.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of current trends, techniques, and management principles in surgical services.
