Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or a related field.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by ASCP or equivalent.
• Michigan state licensure (or eligibility to obtain it).
• Prior experience in a clinical lab is a plus but not required.
• Strong understanding of lab procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be open to working night shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct lab tests on blood, urine, tissue, and other samples across various disciplines, including chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunology.
• Analyze and interpret results to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab instruments to ensure accuracy.
• Follow strict protocols for specimen handling, labeling, and storage.
• Maintain lab safety and infection control standards.
• Record and report test results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Train and support new team members and students.
• Stay current with advancements in laboratory technology.
• Work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure top-quality patient care.
• Participate in quality assurance programs to maintain accreditation.
