Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by ASCP or equivalent is required.
• Michigan state licensure (or eligibility).
• Preferred experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Strong knowledge of lab techniques, equipment, and safety.
• Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage time and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Roles Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory tests on patient samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) in clinical chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunology.
• Analyze results and interpret data for physician use in diagnosis and treatment.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment; troubleshoot and repair as needed.
• Ensure proper specimen handling, labeling, and storage for accurate results.
• Follow safety protocols and infection control measures.
• Accurately document and report result in the lab information system (LIS).
• Train and mentor new staff and technologist students.
• Stay updated on lab technology through continuing education.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide the best patient care.
• Participate in quality control and assurance to maintain accreditation.
