What You’ll Do

Conduct Patient Assessments

  • Evaluate patients' physical conditions, assess their medical histories, and develop individualized rehabilitation programs designed to meet their specific recovery needs.

Implement Therapeutic Interventions

  • Deliver a variety of therapeutic techniques, including exercise therapy, manual therapy, and equipment-based interventions to improve strength, flexibility, mobility, and overall function.

Monitor Patient Progress

  • Regularly track patient progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes and efficient rehabilitation.

Collaborate with Healthcare Teams

  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other rehabilitation specialists to deliver comprehensive, multidisciplinary care in a hospital setting.

Guide and Educate Patients and Caregivers

  • Educate patients and their caregivers on exercises, injury prevention techniques, and home programs to maintain progress beyond their hospital stay and prevent future injuries.

Promote Wellness and Mobility

  • Advocate for physical activity and early mobilization, focusing on both recovery and the prevention of further injuries for improved long-term health.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply

Licensure & Certification:

  • Active Physical Therapist (PT) license in Michigan
  • Specialty certifications (e.g., orthopedics, geriatrics, neuro) are a plus

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a hospital or rehabilitation setting is preferred
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and clinical reasoning abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively build rapport with patients and colleagues
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
