  • Perform respiratory assessments, including obtaining patient histories and conducting diagnostic tests.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Implement and monitor mechanical ventilation and other respiratory support modalities.
  • Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Monitor patient responses to therapy and make appropriate adjustments.
  • Document all assessments, treatments, and interventions accurately and promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Valid and current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of Louisiana.
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy principles, techniques, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in administering and managing mechanical ventilation.
