MLee Healthcare has been engaged by a client to recruit a respiratory therapist for their growing team in central Indiana.
Responsibilities:
- Perform assessments and diagnostic tests to evaluate respiratory conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans for patients.
- Administer respiratory therapies and medications, including oxygen therapy, bronchodilators, and aerosol therapy, as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to respiratory treatments and adjust therapy plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatment options, and self-management techniques.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive patient care plans.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide life-saving interventions such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and airway management.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in respiratory care through continuous education and professional development.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, safety regulations, and quality assurance standards in all aspects of respiratory therapy practice.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and current certification as a Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT).
- Valid state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Proficiency in performing respiratory assessments, administering therapies, and operating respiratory equipment.
- Strong knowledge of respiratory diseases, disorders, and treatment modalities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions and patient education.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with healthcare professionals from various disciplines.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure situations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
