Position Overview:
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using radiopharmaceuticals to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of medical conditions. You’ll work closely with patients and medical staff, ensuring the safe and accurate operation of imaging equipment and the correct administration of radioactive agents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Diagnostic Imaging: Administer radiopharmaceuticals and operate imaging equipment to perform nuclear medicine procedures, including PET/CT and SPECT scans.
- Patient Care: Ensure patient comfort and safety during imaging procedures. Explain procedures to patients and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality diagnostic results and ensure effective patient care.
- Radiation Safety: Follow strict safety protocols and regulations to protect both patients and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Maintain Equipment: Ensure imaging equipment is maintained and calibrated according to established procedures and safety standards.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient information, test results, and safety procedures in the medical record.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
- Licensure/Certification: ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification required. Indiana State Radiation Operator License (or eligibility to obtain within a specified timeframe).
- Experience: Prior experience in nuclear medicine imaging preferred but not required. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to follow strict safety protocols. Excellent communication and patient care skills.
