Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse in our Medical Surgical Step-Down Unit, you will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals who require close monitoring and treatment following critical care. Your role will involve assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Registered Nurse Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on established standards and protocols. Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and provide interventions as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and address any changes in patient condition.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities and progress in electronic health records.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
Registered Nurse Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana.
- Experience: Previous experience in a medical-surgical or step-down unit preferred. New grads with strong clinical rotations will be considered.
- Skills: Excellent clinical skills, strong critical thinking abilities, and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
