Position Overview:
As a Polysomnographic Technologist, you will play a key role in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders. Your expertise in performing sleep studies (polysomnography) and monitoring patients throughout the night will contribute to accurate diagnoses and help guide treatment plans for conditions like sleep apnea, insomnia, and other sleep-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and conduct polysomnographic sleep studies on patients, ensuring accurate electrode placement and patient monitoring throughout the procedure.
- Monitor patient’s sleep stages, oxygen levels, heart rate, and other physiological parameters during sleep studies.
- Document sleep study data accurately and assist in the interpretation of results.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during the study, providing clear instructions and addressing any concerns.
- Assist in follow-up care, providing patients with sleep hygiene education and addressing questions about their sleep study.
- Maintain equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning properly.
- Adhere to hospital policies and sleep center protocols, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s degree in Polysomnographic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or related field, or equivalent training.
- Certification: Must hold or be eligible to obtain BRPT (Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists) certification.
- Experience: Previous experience in polysomnography or sleep medicine is preferred but not required. New graduates with appropriate clinical training are encouraged to apply.
- Licensing: Must have or obtain an Indiana Polysomnographic Technologist license (if applicable).
- Skills: Excellent communication and patient care skills; ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
