Nuclear Medicine Technologist Qualifications:  

  • Completion of a formal Nuclear Medicine program with an associated certificate or degree. 
  • One (1) year of Nuclear Medicine experience preferred.
  • IEMA License in Nuclear Medicine.
  • ARRT(NM) or NMTCB registry required 
  • Maintains Basic Life support certification.

Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Summary

  • MLR is looking for a dedicated and skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a growing hospital in Illinois. In this role, you will perform nuclear medicine procedures under the supervision of a radiologist, with the autonomy to manage technical details independently. The position requires adherence to ALARA principles and regulatory guidelines to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Nuclear Medicine Technologist Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Operate imaging equipment such as gamma cameras and PET scanners to obtain images.
  • Position patients correctly and ensure patient comfort during procedures.
  • Follow protocols to obtain high-quality images and maintain patient records.
  • Monitor patients during imaging procedures and address any adverse reactions.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results.
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols and radiation protection measures.
  • Perform quality control tests on equipment and maintain inventory of radiopharmaceuticals.
