Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Ultrasound Exams: Utilize ultrasound equipment to capture clear, accurate diagnostic images for physicians and medical staff to assess and diagnose medical conditions.
  • Patient Care: Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, positioning patients, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the ultrasound examination.
  • Image Quality: Ensure that all images meet quality standards and are of diagnostic quality for accurate assessment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment to ensure it is operating efficiently and safely.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate patient care.
  • Documentation: Record patient information and ultrasound results accurately in patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent from an accredited program.
  • Certification: ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification in Abdomen and Obstetrics/Gynecology required. Additional certifications in areas like Echocardiography or Vascular Ultrasound are a plus.
  • Licensure: State of Illinois licensure or eligibility as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (or required certification if applicable).
  • Experience: Previous ultrasound technologist experience is preferred, but we also welcome applications from recent graduates with the appropriate certifications.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a healthcare team.
