Position Overview:
MLR is seeking a skilled Cytotechnologist to join our pathology team. In this role, you will be responsible for examining and analyzing cellular samples, identifying abnormalities, and contributing to the accurate diagnosis and treatment planning for patients.

 

Key Responsibilities for a Cytotechnologist:

  • Prepare and examine cytological specimens, including pap smears, body fluids, and fine needle aspirations.
  • Identify and evaluate abnormal cellular changes for potential malignancies or diseases.
  • Work closely with pathologists to review and communicate findings.
  • Maintain accurate records of specimens and results.
  • Ensure compliance with all laboratory protocols and safety standards.
  • Participate in quality control and assurance activities to ensure high-quality results.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology or a related field.
  • Certification as a Cytotechnologist (CT or SCT) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a Cytotechnologist in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify cellular abnormalities.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
