Location: Greater Chicago, IL

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and passionate Histologist to join our team. As a Histologist, you will play a critical role in our research efforts by preparing and analyzing tissue samples to support our scientific investigations. You will utilize your expertise in histological techniques to contribute to the development of novel therapies, diagnostic tools, and insights into disease mechanisms. 

Shift: Monday to Friday, variable shifts, multiple open roles

Responsibilities:

• Perform tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining using a variety of histological techniques.
• Operate and maintain histology equipment including microtomes, tissue processors, and staining platforms.
• Prepare histological slides for examination by pathologists and researchers.
• Perform quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
• Keep detailed records of experiments, results, and procedures.
• Stay informed about advances in histology techniques and contribute to the implementation of new methodologies.

Requirements:

• Associate's Degree in Medical Technologist, Medical Lab Tech, Clinical Lab Science, or related field.
• Must obtain Histotechnologist (HT) (ASCP) or equivalent certification within 1 year of hire date.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant laboratory environment by abiding the requirements set by the CLIA, TJC and/or CAP.
