Ultrasound Supervisor

 

Position Overview:

 

As the Ultrasound Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the ultrasound department, ensuring high-quality patient care, accurate imaging, and effective staff management. You will lead, mentor, and support a team of ultrasound technologists while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This position is ideal for an experienced ultrasound professional who is ready to take on a leadership role in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the ultrasound department, including scheduling, workflow optimization, and patient care coordination.
  • Lead and mentor a team of ultrasound technologists, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, regulatory standards, and best practices in imaging procedures.
  • Review and evaluate diagnostic images for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet the standards required for patient diagnosis.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and service delivery.
  • Handle administrative duties, including departmental budgeting, inventory management, and staff scheduling.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and patient privacy standards.
  • Stay current on advancements in ultrasound technology and best practices, recommending updates or improvements as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
  • Certification: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent certification required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in ultrasound imaging, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and support staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of ultrasound technology, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and make decisions to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements within healthcare settings.
