Ultrasound Supervisor
Position Overview:
As the Ultrasound Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the ultrasound department, ensuring high-quality patient care, accurate imaging, and effective staff management. You will lead, mentor, and support a team of ultrasound technologists while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This position is ideal for an experienced ultrasound professional who is ready to take on a leadership role in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the ultrasound department, including scheduling, workflow optimization, and patient care coordination.
- Lead and mentor a team of ultrasound technologists, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, regulatory standards, and best practices in imaging procedures.
- Review and evaluate diagnostic images for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet the standards required for patient diagnosis.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and service delivery.
- Handle administrative duties, including departmental budgeting, inventory management, and staff scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and patient privacy standards.
- Stay current on advancements in ultrasound technology and best practices, recommending updates or improvements as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
- Certification: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in ultrasound imaging, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and support staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- In-depth knowledge of ultrasound technology, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and make decisions to ensure efficient workflow.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements within healthcare settings.
