Clinical Pharmacist
Schedule:
Full-time, 80 hours per pay period.
8:00 to 5:00 pm* Flexible schedule.
Rotating shifts 1 every 4 weekends.
Position Summary:
The Pharmacist provides clinical and distribution services in collaboration with physicians and nursing staff to ensure safe and cost-effective medication therapy for patients. Supervises support personnel and participates in various departmental initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Medication Review: Evaluate prescriptions for accuracy, drug interactions, allergies, and appropriateness of therapy.
- Clinical Support: Collaborate with healthcare teams to resolve medication-related issues and provide timely drug information.
- Clinical Interventions: Document and follow-up on clinical interventions, participating in medication error reporting and clinical programs.
- Training & Supervision: Mentor new staff and oversee medication preparation by support personnel.
- Specialized Areas: Work in areas such as home infusion, critical care, or ambulatory care, providing drug therapy monitoring and patient education.
- Medication Management: Ensure accurate dispensing of medications, maintain inventory, monitor controlled substances, and ensure security and compliance.
- Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, deadlines, and emergency situations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred.
- Licensure: Current Illinois Registered Pharmacist License required.
