Cytotechnologist Key Responsibilities:
- Examine cellular samples, fluid specimens, and fine needle aspirations under a microscope to identify abnormalities or signs of disease.
- Analyze cellular morphology to detect cancerous or precancerous conditions.
- Document findings accurately in the lab information system, preparing comprehensive reports for pathologists.
- Ensure adherence to quality control protocols to maintain test accuracy and reliability.
Cytotechnologist Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Certification as a Cytotechnologist (CT) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or an equivalent certification.
- At least one year of experience working as a Cytotechnologist in a clinical laboratory.
- Proficient in operating lab equipment, including microscopes and imaging systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex cellular samples.
