Overview: We are seeking a skilled Cytotechnologist to join our team at MLR.org. This role involves examining clinical specimens for cancer or other diseases, documenting findings, and identifying abnormalities for further review by a pathologist. Responsibilities include performing quality control, assessing specimen adequacy, and supporting cytology processing to ensure accurate diagnoses.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology or a related field.
- Certification as a Cytotechnologist (CT) by ASCP or an equivalent organization.
- A minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience.
- Proficiency in operating laboratory equipment and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with a detail-oriented approach and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct microscopic analysis of cellular samples to identify abnormalities or signs of disease.
- Examine cellular morphology for indicators of cancer or precancerous conditions.
- Accurately document findings and collaborate with pathologists on complex cases.
- Adhere to protocols and quality control standards to ensure reliable results.
