Ultrasound Technologist (ARDMS)

 

Position Overview:

 

As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of medical conditions. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality imaging services. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Ultrasound Examinations: Conduct high-quality diagnostic ultrasounds, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, and vascular imaging studies, as ordered by physicians.
  • Patient Care: Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures, explaining the process and addressing any concerns.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper functioning and image quality.
  • Documentation: Accurately document and report ultrasound results for physician review, maintaining strict adherence to patient confidentiality and organizational standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other medical staff to interpret images and assist in patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform routine maintenance checks on ultrasound equipment to ensure proper functioning and high-quality imaging.

Qualifications:

  • Certification: ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification required.
  • Education: Associate’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in ultrasound technology preferred but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of ultrasound techniques, anatomy, and protocols.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with patients in a caring, empathetic manner.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
