Where Athletics and Lifestyle Come Together
West of the bustling capital of Iowa, there’s a city that has perfected the balance between vibrant living and Midwestern warmth. Welcome to the western corridor of the Des Moines metro — where well-kept athletic fields meet quiet bike trails, and Friday night lights are a town-wide affair. This region isn’t just a suburb; it’s a dynamic community with the feel of a small town and the resources of a growing city.
Locals are proud of their schools, where academics and athletics go hand-in-hand and students are supported by an invested network of parents, teachers, and professionals. Spend an afternoon in a local coffee shop and you’ll likely hear high school game recaps alongside business meetings — that’s how seamlessly youth sports are woven into daily life here. You’ll find packed bleachers, community tailgates, and neighbors who know the name of every varsity starter.
When you’re not on the sidelines, there’s still plenty to explore. Miles of paved bike and walking trails wind through scenic parks and into the historic heart of nearby Valley Junction. Downtown Des Moines is just a short drive away, offering art museums, live music, and some of the best dining in the Midwest — without the traffic of a major city. The Des Moines River runs through it all, offering kayaking, fishing, and views that shift with the seasons.
Cost of living is refreshingly manageable, making it easy to find a place with room to stretch out. Whether you’re settling into your first home or just looking for a slower pace that doesn’t sacrifice opportunity, this is a place where careers and families can grow.
With a healthcare community that values teamwork, and a school system that views athletic training as an essential pillar of student well-being, you’ll have a real seat at the table here. Your role as an athletic trainer will not only be respected — it will be celebrated.
A Career That Keeps You Moving Forward
Join a healthcare team that sees athletic training as more than taping ankles — it’s about mentorship, prevention, education, and trust. Whether you’re early in your career or looking to deepen your impact in a more connected setting, this is a role that offers both purpose and possibility.
If you’re ready to take the next step in a career that combines movement, meaning, and Midwestern charm, apply today. Because here, your skills don’t just support athletes — they strengthen an entire community.
