What You'll Do:

 

Provide Comprehensive Patient Care:

  • Conduct comprehensive physical exams, take medical histories, and assess patient symptoms to diagnose medical conditions
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood work, imaging, and other relevant diagnostics, to guide treatment decisions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs
  • Prescribe medications, therapies, and interventions to effectively manage both acute and chronic health conditions
  • Provide ongoing disease management, ensuring continuous care for patients’ health concerns

Patient Education and Support:

  • Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle changes
  • Provide preventive care services, including health screenings, immunizations, and wellness check-ups
  • Offer counseling on health maintenance, nutrition, and self-care strategies to improve long-term health outcomes

Collaborate with Healthcare Teams:

  • Work closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and treatment plans
  • Contribute to case discussions, offering valuable insights and ensuring holistic patient care
  • Mentor and support nursing staff and other team members to promote best practices in patient care

Monitor and Track Progress:

  • Regularly evaluate patients’ responses to treatments and adjust care plans as necessary
  • Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR), ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Act on patient feedback to advocate for care improvements and better patient outcomes

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Active Iowa Nurse Practitioner license
  • Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (e.g., Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, etc.)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications preferred
  • Prior experience in a Nurse Practitioner or Registered Nurse (RN) role is advantageous
  • Strong clinical skills with the ability to assess, diagnose, and manage diverse health conditions
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with patients and collaborate with healthcare teams
  • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions
  • A compassionate, empathetic, and patient-focused approach
