Qualifications:
- Must graduate from an Accredited Physical Therapy program.
- Experience in outpatient and inpatient settings.
- At least one year of clinical experience.
- Iowa state licensure.
Summary:
In a hospital setting, a Physical Therapist (PT) plays a crucial role in the rehabilitation process for patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or illnesses. They assess patients' physical conditions and functional limitations, developing personalized treatment plans to promote mobility, strength, and overall bodily function. The PT implements therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and mobility training while educating patients on techniques for safe movement and pain management. They work closely with the healthcare team to coordinate care, monitor patient progress, and adjust treatment plans as needed. Additionally, the PT may guide discharge planning and home exercise programs, ensuring a smooth transition for patients back to their daily activities.
