Mammography Technologist

Description:
The Mammography Technologist is responsible for operating mammography equipment and producing images of patients' breast tissue for diagnostic and screening purposes. They work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure that high-quality images are produced, and that patient safety is maintained.
- Prepare patients for mammography procedures by explaining the procedure and answering any questions they may have
- Position patients and equipment to ensure proper alignment and exposure
- Operate mammography equipment to produce images, adjusting settings as needed to ensure the best possible images
- Monitor patients during the procedure to ensure their safety and comfort
- Process and review images to ensure they meet quality standards
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or certificate in radiologic technology or related field
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification or equivalent
- Knowledge of mammography equipment and related technology
- Knowledge of radiation safety and protection measures
- Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
