ASCP - Histology Technician
MLR is collaborating with a highly respected health system to recruit a meticulous Histology Technician for a full-time, permanent role. This essential position focuses on the accurate and timely preparation of histological slides, crucial for patient diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tissue Processing: Execute tissue preparation through processing, embedding, sectioning (microtomy), and staining to produce high-quality histologic slides.
- Equipment Management: Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and compliance with safety protocols.
- Specimen Handling: Assist in specialized staining procedures, including immunohistochemistry, for advanced tissue analysis.
- Documentation: Accurately label, document, and track specimens to uphold the integrity of patient information and testing.
- Collaboration: Work closely with pathologists and laboratory staff to deliver precise and timely diagnostic information.
- Continuous Development: Stay current on histology techniques and maintain ASCP certification through ongoing education.
ASCP - Histology Technician Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Histotechnology or a related field.
- Certification: ASCP certification as a Histology Technician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a histology lab preferred.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and excellent organizational and communication skills.
