Athletic Trainer Job Overview: As an integral interdisciplinary sports medicine team member, the Athletic Trainer (AT) assumes responsibility for on-site athletic training coverage at designated schools and community events. Under the supervision of a physician, the AT delivers a range of services, including prevention, clinical evaluation, diagnosis, immediate care, treatment, rehabilitation, re-conditioning, organization, and administration.
Key Responsibilities for Certified Athletic Trainer:
- On-Site Coverage: Provide on-site athletic training at designated schools and community events as instructed.
- Patient Care: Deliver services such as prevention, clinical evaluation, diagnosis, immediate care, treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning.
- Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely documentation adhering to Premier Health standards.
- Professional Practice: Engage in continuous education and stay abreast of industry trends.
- Public Speaking: Participate in public speaking engagements to raise awareness and educate on sports medicine.
- Cost Management: Contribute to cost management initiatives within the sports medicine department.
- Customer Service: Demonstrate excellent customer service for athletes and stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work with other sports medicine team members to enhance effectiveness.
Athletic Trainer Educational Requirements:
- Minimum Level: Bachelor's degree
- Degree Type: Bachelor of Science or equivalent
- Major/Area of Study: Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or equivalent
Athletic Trainer Licensure/Certifications:
- Current Athletic Training license in the State of Ohio.
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
- National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification.
Experience:
- Minimum Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience, new grads welcome to apply!
- Preferred Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience
