As an ICU RN, you’ll provide critical care to patients in urgent need. On a typical day, you’ll assess patients, triage based on the severity of their conditions, and provide immediate care for trauma victims, acute illnesses, and medical emergencies.
You’ll monitor vital signs, administer treatments, and prepare patients for necessary procedures or surgery. Throughout the day, you’ll collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to stabilize and treat patients. You’ll also educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and recovery, offering reassurance and support. Your role ensures that each patient receives timely, compassionate care.
