As a Speech Language Pathologist in the enchanting city of Orlando, your role transcends more than treating communication and swallowing disorders. You will empower individuals, allowing them to reclaim their voices, and build connections that celebrate the beauty of human interaction—whether it’s helping toddlers finally express themselves or assisting seniors in navigating the nuances of language.

This position offers a remarkable chance to work with diverse age groups in a harmonious blend of outpatient and occasional inpatient settings. If your passion lies in early childhood language development, adult communication recovery, or geriatric cognitive rehabilitation, your journey here will be fulfilling and flexible.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics via standardized tests and hands-on observational methods.
  • Create tailored treatment plans highlighting both immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy focused on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing rehabilitation.
  • Work in concert with your interdisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to craft seamless care strategies.
  • Provide education for patients and their families to enhance therapy outcomes beyond clinical settings.
  • Support inpatient therapy evaluations and interventions as needed, ensuring a continuum of care throughout the recovery journey.
  • Maintain precise documentation in compliance with all applicable standards and guidelines.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through education and collaboration with peers.

Your Background

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.

Necessary Credentials

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.

Essential Skills

  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for various populations, encompassing both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Adept at adjusting therapy techniques to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgment combined with adept problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation practices.

Benefits Await You

  • Attractive salary reflective of experience.
  • Flexible scheduling to promote work-life harmony and varied patient caseloads.
  • Opportunities to specialize in pediatric, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric care.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay to recharge and refresh.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and life insurance packages.
