Job Overview: MLee Healthcare is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiographer to join a growing medical team in centeral Delaware. The Ultrasound Technician is a graduate of an accredited AMA school and is registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). They maintain a State License as a general radiographer and/or are a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS). Responsibilities include providing timely diagnostic services to both inpatients and outpatients under the direction of a Radiologist and according to departmental protocols. Tasks encompass performing abdominal, pelvic (including gynecological & obstetrical), and transvaginal sonograms. Additionally, proficiency extends to scanning small parts such as the thyroid, breast, and scrotum, as well as conducting ultrasound-guided procedures including biopsies, drainage, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and aspirations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with departmental protocols and physician instructions.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality images for interpretation by Radiologists and other healthcare providers.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures, maintaining professionalism and empathy.
  • Document and maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories, imaging results, and procedural details.
  • Collaborate effectively with Radiologists and other medical professionals to review images, discuss findings, and contribute to patient care plans.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to safety standards.
  • Stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology and techniques through continuing education and professional development.
  • Educate patients about procedures, answering questions, and addressing concerns to enhance their understanding and comfort.

 

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited AMA school
  • Must have vascular experience
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
  • State License as a general radiographer, and/or is a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
  • 2 years of relevant work experience
  • RVT registry Required
  • Epic experience required
  • BLS required
